Let's talk about motivation...

Let’s talk about motivation. It is something we all need, yet it is something very few of us possess daily. If you are like me, you find motivation in very few places at very odd times. One moment I can be binge-watching my favorite TV series on the couch, and the next, I am writing a ten-page paper in less than two hours. Or better yet, my motivation may come in spurts after a large cup of iced coffee. Nevertheless, motivation (or lack thereof) comes and goes in many forms for each one of us. Deadlines may creep up on you when you least expect it, or maybe the idea of procrastinating a task drives you crazy, yet you still do not do what needs to get done. – I’ve been there, I’ve done that! For me, being an online college student requires a lot of self-motivation. It is on me if I do not work on my assignments before they are due. It is on me if I do poorly and receive a low grade. The same concept goes for my art business; the idea of being inconsistent or not good enough li...

Two Years Free.

Two Years.   Two years free. Two years free from your manipulation.  Two years free from your verbal abuse.  Two years free from your toxicity.  Two years clean.  Two years since that day filled with anxiety.  Two years free from your toxic friends.  Two years free from your toxic family. Two years free from your future.  Two years since I started finding myself again.  Two years since I gave it to God.  Two years since I realized my worth in Christ. Two years since I realized the difference between a godly man and a fake boy.  Two years since I finally stopped having to be the spiritual leader in the relationship.  Two years since I stopped giving into you.  Two years since I stopped settling.  Two years since I realized who my true friends were. Two years since I had to be loyal to someone who wasn’t loyal to me.  Two years since you made fun of my eating habits/disorder. Two years since I became ...

It's Election Day...

It’s Election Day. Pray for America: Regardless of who you’re voting for, I urge you to pray for our country. Everyone has different opinions and votes, and that’s okay! However, our country needs prayer. Pray for the United States. Pray for the election. & pray for our future president, new or old. God has a perfect plan in place, and I believe that regardless of the outcome He will fulfill what He has promised. Fear: I think more than ever before mental health and anxiety is all too common in our generation. I’ll be the first to tell you that I struggle with anxiety and depression on a daily basis. However, a book in scripture that I have studied and leaned on is Philippians. A little background...the author of the book is Paul, who is currently in prison! He is writing to the Philippians by encouraging them to have faith and joy in Jesus. He reminds the them to praise Jesus no matter the circumstance. Now, if Paul can have faith in God while in prison, we can...

College - Freshman Year

Over a year ago, I made a difficult decision that resulted in applying to be an online student for college. My whole life I had been home-schooled, and I loved it, however, I always pictured myself going away to college and attending a campus; but God had a different plan in mind. I had been looking into local schools, but most did not suit my future career desires, and other schools were rather too expensive. It was not until I discovered Liberty University’s online program that I felt at peace with my future. I had been worrying about what I would major in and where I would go for a while. I wanted to do well in college, and where I went would play a huge factor in that desired outcome. Growing up in Connecticut, I knew of many people that attended Liberty; and overall, it is a well-known university for both on-campus and online. I had been looking into online programs and I came across Liberty University, which had the major I had hoped to pursue. Not long after I had applied, I...

My Testimony

Hello everyone, my name is Hannah, and this is my story. I’m a college student, artist, sister, and daughter, but most importantly, I’m a born-again Christian. What is a Christian? A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus came into this earth perfect, flawless, and lived a sinless life. Jesus not only lived a perfect life, but He sacrificed Himself for us and rose from the grave three days later. Jesus is the Son of God who created you and me and has sacrificed His Son for His children in hopes that we would believe in Him. This is what was instilled in my family ever since I could remember. I live with my loving parents and my older brother who are also Christians, and at the age of four years old, I also surrendered my life to Jesus. I wanted to know, experience, and live out that same forgiveness and love that Jesus offered the rest of my family. Life, however, has its ups and downs. Christians are viewed as perfect people who have no fear or ...
